Information Typically Ignored
Excellent information which typically gets ignored for decades. When not properly maintained, and opened, they STINK Ask me how I know.
Pump Your Septic Tank Every 3 to 5 Years!!!
Do you change the oil in your car regularly? Think of your septic system the same way...
Pumping your septic tank on a maintenance schedule removes the solids that build up on the bottom of the tank and the upper grease layer or 'crust' that forms over time within the tank.
If the solids are left to build up they will eventually move into the drainfield allowing the field to become 'clogged' over time and can create very costly repairs or the need for a full system replacement.
The grease layer within the tank form from everyday dishwashing etc. (worse if grease is allowed to be dumped down the drain NOT RECOMMENDED!!). The grease can form a 'crust' on the top of the tank blocking the inlet or outlet of the tank and can cause messy backups within the home or on the yard.
When was the last time you had your septic tank pumped???
