I must admit that I have no clue what this attic framing and plumbing is all about. One appears to be a highly glorified method of supporting the load on roof purlins. It appears a plumbing vent pipe is supported on a cut out bucket serving an additional purpose of catching potential leaks from the pipe roof boot flashing.
